We're really pleased to announce the return of the Nottingham Clarion Wednesday Evening Coaching Sessions at Holme Pierrepont, starting Wednesday 29th May. Over the years we've helped dozens of young people get more enjoyment out of their cycling through these small-group coaching sessions. We've even managed to help some riders become National Champions!
The sessions are Off-Road - that means you'll need something like a Mountain Bike, Cyclocross or Gravel bike to take part. (If you're not sure about your bikes, get in touch for advice). Off-road riding is great for bike handling skills, fitness and fun. It also means we can coach in a traffic-free, safe environment.
Our British Cycling-accredited, fully-insured coaches work with riders on developing skills like cornering, climbing and descending. These off-road skills are important whether you're riding socially or even thinking about racing off-road. We introduce the element of competition through races and games, but the emphasis is firmly on fun, not 'winning'
The sessions are aimed at riders who have mastered the basics of bike handling and riding, so will suit young people over 8. Parents are welcome to stay and watch the sessions.
There is no charge for the sessions but the riders must all be members of Nottingham Clarion. This only costs £5 and we welcome second claim members from other clubs - Join Now. Please bring a signed consent form to the first session you attend.
We meet up at the rear of the National Watersports Centre (NG12 2LU), at 6pm and finish at 7.30pm
Looking forward to seeing riders old and new over the coming weeks. Don't forget to bring a drink, helmet, and warmer clothes in case the weather isn't as sunny as we want!
